Fatma Leylâ Ak was born in Ankara in 1995. After graduating from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History, and Geography, Department of Art History in 2019, she gained professional experience in archaeological research, exhibition assistance, and curatorial work. In 2017, she worked as an art historian at the Kubadabad Palace Excavation and Research Center. Between 2021 and 2022, she participated in the Contemporary Art and Curatorship Program organized in collaboration with Açık Diyalog İstanbul and Akbank Sanat.
In 2023, she worked as an assistant curator for the Age of Fire exhibition supported by the German Embassy. Between 2022 and 2023, she worked as an assistant in several galleries and museums based in Ankara.
In 2024, she curated Uğur Ulusoy’s solo exhibition From Cocoon to Sky at Flottmann-Hallen Cultural Center in Germany and wrote exhibition texts for his shows at Kunstverein Lüneburg and Institut für Moderne Kunst Nürnberg.
In 2025, she curated Rüyalı, Uğur Ulusoy’s solo exhibition at Summart Sanat in Istanbul, and in the same year, she was accepted to the Ege Yapı Artist Residency as a writer and curator. In October 2025, she was admitted to the International Master’s Program in Arts and Culture Management at Rome Business School, located in Rome, Italy.
Also active in writing, Ak has published short stories, essays, and articles in platforms such as Öykü Gazetesi, Solfasol, Sanat Okur, Artfulliving, and Unlimited. With a curatorial approach that transforms art into a medium for forging deep connections with the audience, she continues her work. She independently pursues her curatorial and writing practices.
